FIND THE TRUTH
Sometime back, I was traveling in Brindhavan Express going to Bangalore from Chennai. You have only seating accommodation on the train. Opposite to my seat was a family. consisting of a father, mother and an 8-year-old son.
On the request of the son, the father went out and got a few cans of a cool drink. After the train departed, the son, asked the father to give him a can. The father gave him one, after opening it. The boy drank it with great joy, smiling at the father. The father also was pleased.
On such occasions, I find it difficult to remain quiet. Out of curiosity, I asked the father how can he give his son something without even checking on it. The liquid is not even visible to the naked eye to see whether it is of good quality or not. He laughed and said one must have belief.
After an hour, the son started vomiting. The parents were worried. I asked them what he ate in the morning and also to check another can. When its contents were poured into a vessel, it was found to be contaminated. Just seeing and believing is not enough. One must thoroughly check to get the truth.
தீர விசாரிப்பதே மெய்
சில நாட்களுக்கு முன் நான் சென்னையில் இருந்து பங்களூர் செல்லும் பிருந்தாவன் புகை வண்டியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து கொண்டு இருந்தேன். அந்த வண்டியில் உட்காரும் இடம் மட்டும் தான் உண்டு. எனக்கு எதிர் வரிசையில் ஒரு குடும்பம் வந்து இருந்தார்கள். ஒரு அப்பா, அம்மா. 8 வயதில் ஒரு மகன்.
மகனின் விருப்பப்படி, அப்பா வெளியில் சென்று அலுமினிய டப்பாவில் அடைத்த குளிர் பானம் 4, 5 வாங்கி வந்தார். வண்டி புறப்பட்டவுடன், அந்த சிறுவன் தகப்பனாரிடம் ஒரு குளிர் பானம் கேட்டான். அவர் அவனுக்கு ஒன்று கொடுத்தார். அதைத் திறந்து அவன் குடித்தான். மகன், தந்தை இருவருக்கும் சந்தோஷம்.
என்னால் சும்மா இருக்க முடியவில்லை. ஆர்வத்தின் காரணமாக, நான் அந்த தகப்பனாரிடம், "ஏன் ஸார், உள்ளே என்ன இருக்கிறது என்று பார்க்காமல் ஒரு சிறுவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாமா?" என்று கேட்டேன்.அதற்கு அவர் சிரித்துக் கொண்டே, "அதில் எல்லாம் நம்பிக்கை வேண்டும் ஸார்" என்றார்.
ஒரு மணி நேரம் கழித்து அந்த சிறுவன் திடீர் என்று சில தடவை வாந்தி எடுத்தான். இன்னொரு குளிர் பானத்தை சோதனை பண்ணிப் பார்த்த போது அது கெட்டுப் போய் இருந்தது தெரிந்தது. கண்ணால் பார்ப்பதும் பொய். காதால் கேட்பதும் பொய். தீர விசாரிப்பதே மெய்.
