I like world cinema. That is, I see English, French, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Iranian, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil movies etc.
நான் உலக சினிமாவை ரசிக்கிறேன். ஆங்கிலம், ஹிந்தி, தமிழ், மலையாளம், தெலுங்கு, கன்னடம் இவைகளுடன் ப்ரான்ஸ், ரஷ்யா, கொரியா, சைனா, ஜப்பான், இரான், நாட்டுப் படங்களையும் பார்ப்பது உண்டு.
1. I would have seen about 3000 movies so far.
இதுவரை சுமார் 3000 திரைப் படங்களுக்கு மேல் பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்.
2. I am able to understand a movie better than a layman.
அதனால் ஒரு சாமானிய மனிதனை விட சினிமாவை என்னால் நன்கு புரிந்து கொள்ள முடிகிறது.
3. I like only classics.
தரமான படங்களை மட்டும் தான் எனக்குப் பிடிக்கும்.
4. I see whether it imparts any value.
அந்த திரைப்படம் நல்ல விஷயங்களைச் சொல்கிறதா என்பது முக்கியம்.
5. I do not like formula films.
தரம் இல்லாத [FORMULA] படங்களை நான் விரும்புவது இல்லை.
6. I believe that making of a movie is a team work and not that of an individual.
ஒரு திரைப்படம் ஒருவரின் திறமையால் அல்ல, பலரது முயற்சியால் வெற்றி அடைவது என்ற நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவன் நான்.
7. I give importance to the director, cinematography, story and script.
இயக்குநர், ஒளிப்பதிவாளர், கதை மற்றும் திரைக்கதைக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பபவன் நான்.
8. The story must be absorbing, script cogent and cinematography pleasing.
கதை விருவிருப்பாக்வும், திரைக்கதை தொடர்ச்சியாகவும், ஒளிப்பதிவு கண்ணுக்கு குளிர்ச்சியாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
9. I do not attach importance to the actors excepting their performance.
நடிப்பைத் தவிர நடிகர்களுக்கு நான் முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பது இல்லை.
10. I do not like songs in the movie excepting background music.
பின்னணி இசையைத் தவிர படத்தில் பாடல்கள் இருப்பதை நான் விரும்புவது இல்லை.
11. I am averse to the hero and heroin running around trees in various costumes in different countries.
கதா நாயகனும் நாயகியும் மரத்தைச் சுற்றி ஓடியாடிப் பாடுவதும், பலவித உடைகளில், பல நாடுகளில் காதல் செய்வதும் நான் வெறுக்கும் ஒன்று.
12. I hate to see one man hitting so many people and still remains unscathed.
ஒரு மனிதன் பல பேரை தாக்கி வெற்றி கொள்வதும், எவ்வித அடியும் படாமல் இருப்பதும் என்னால் ஒத்துக்கொள்ள முடியாத ஒன்று..
13. I am fed up with the comedian, in the name of a friend to the hero, uttering nonsenses.
நகைச்சுவை என்ற பெயரில் கதாநாயகனின் நண்பன் இரட்டை அர்த்தத்தில் உளறுவது என்னால் தாங்க முடியாத ஒன்று.
14. I am not biased. I see whether it gives me the satisfaction for the money I have spent.
பாரபட்சமான எண்ணம் எனக்குக் கிடையாது. நான் செலவு செய்யும் பணத்திற்குப் பலன் கிடைக்க வேண்டும். திருப்தி தர வேண்டும்.

மக்களிடையே ரசிப்புத் தன்மை வளர வேண்டும், தரமான திரைப்படங்கள் தயாரிக்கப் பட வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையில் இதை எழுதுகிறேன்.
