WHY DO YOU ADVICE?
We tell the time to another person only when it is asked for. If anyone goes on telling the time to everyone walking on the street, what people will think about him? Will they think that he is doing social service or will they think that he is mad?
Similarly, everyone has his own belief, knowledge, intelligence, understanding, views, ideas, imagination, confidence and conscience. No one will seek advice from others especially on topics like politics, medicine, religion, spiritualism, etc.
Many people do not understand this. Even our own children, who are better educated than us, do not agree with our views and question us. In such a situation, it is always advisable to keep quiet unless the other person seeks our advice.
As you tell the time only when it is asked for, you should also extend your advice only when it is sought for. This rule is applicable even to our own children in developing mutual love, respect, and understanding. This is the golden rule of good human relations.

யாரும் கேட்காமல் நாம் நேரம் சொல்ல மாட்டோம். தெருவில் போகும் எல்லோரிடமும் ஒருவன் மணி சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தால் அவனைப் பைத்தியம் என்று தான் சொல்வார்கள். அவனை பற்றி மற்றவர்கள் என்ன நினைப்பார்கள்?
சமூக சேவை செய்வதாக நினைப்பார்களா அல்லது பைத்தியம் என்று நினைப்பார்களா? அதே போல் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் மனசாட்சி, புரிதல், அறிவு, புத்திசாலித்தனம், நோக்கு, எண்ணங்கள், கற்பனை மற்றும் நம்பிக்கை இருக்கிறது.
மற்றவர்களின் அறிவுரையை எதிர்பார்க்க யாரும் முட்டாள் அல்ல. முக்கியமாக மருத்துவம், மதம், கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை முதலியவற்றில். நம்மை விட அதிகம் படித்த நம் குழந்தைகள் கூட நம்முடன் ஒத்துப் போகாமல் நம்மைக் கேள்வி கேட்கிறார்கள். பலர் இதை புரிந்து கொள்வதில்லை.
இந்த நிலையில், நம்மை பற்றி கொஞ்சமும் அறியாதவர்கள் நம்முடைய அறிவுரையை விரும்புவதில்லை. கேட்காமல் மணி சொல்லாதது போல, கேட்காமல் அறிவுரை கொடுக்கக் கூடாது. இது நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் பொருந்தும். இது மனித நேயத்தில், உறவில் ஒரு முக்கிய நியதி.
