GARLIC AND ONIONS.

Garlic and onions are considered to be superfoods that contain many heart-protective benefits. 


Garlic and onions are allium vegetables, meaning that they contain high levels of organosulfur compounds which have been shown to reduce cholesterol and blood pressure.


Eating lots of them can cause gastrointestinal distress for people with sensitive GI tracts or conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux, resulting in symptoms like gas, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. Even garlic and onion powder may cause these reactions.


It is also believed that onion and garlic are Tamasik foods, they can possibly arouse the feeling of lust and indulgence according to Ayurveda.
