Just out of curiosity, I inquired with two old age homes for senior citizens situated in Coimbatore and Chennai which are of good standard. The details of accommodation charges including food are as follows. Other charges like electricity, laundry etc are extra.
Coimbatore:
Single person.Interest-free refundable deposit 5 lakhs. Loss of Interest comes to 3750 pm.
Accommodation charges including food 9000/ pm
Total : 12750/ pm
Chennai:
Single person. Interest-free refundable deposit 11 lakhs. Loss of interest comes to 8250 pm
Accommodation charges including food 10000/ pm
Total: 18250/ pm.
After reading this, if you are above 60 and retired what do you think? Don't you think it is better to adjust and accept whatever that is provided by our children and to stay with them? That is the correct and wise decision.
