KITCHEN TIPS

1. Before making idly, if you add a cup of sesame [ginjelly] oil with the batter, the idly will be soft and will not get spoiled for two days.

2. While frying red chillies, to avoid the penchant odour, you may add a little salt.

3. When the mixie blade got stuck up, pour hot water till the blade is submerged. After some time pour the water out and remove the blade.

4. If the curry leaves have become dry, put them in the water of the idly pot that will make the idly smell nice.

5. Before kneading the flour to make a dough, apply some salt to your palm, to avoid the dough getting glued to your hands.

6. To keep the asafoetida soft during summer put a green chilli with the stalk inside the box.

7. To cook the tubers completely, soak them in saltwater for 10 minutes.

8. While making Dosa, if little sugar is sprinkled on the batter, the dosa will be crispy.

9. While keeping biscuits in a box, if you keep tissue paper also, the biscuits will remain crispy.

10. Just warm the coconut oil and take an oil bath twice a week. It keeps your skin healthy and the shopkeeper is happy.

11. When you cook the greens [keerai], add some oil to keep the colour and enhance the taste.

12. If you put fried fenugreek in the sambar, it will smell good and also be tasty.
