WHAT ARE YOU?

Assuming that you are eating something sweet, or bitter, or spicy, the taste and excitement you receive are exclusively for you. Only you are privileged to enjoy it. You cannot express or share your feeling with others. Everyone has to taste it to get that feeling. Even then, their feeling may not be the same as that of yours. It may differ from person to person.

The feeling of God or Godliness or Spiritualism is similar to that. It is to be enjoyed within. It is not for propaganda as you are only a human and not a Godman. As all people may not have the same destiny as you, keep it within you, and enjoy the fruit. The other person will take his own time to get that feeling and enjoy it.

Different people have different yardsticks. Some may utter slokas, some may do meditation, some may perform pujas, some may go on pilgrimage, some may do charity, some may develop universal love, some may do service to the poor, elderly, physically challenged and downtrodden. Everything is Godliness and service to God.

Among all the traits, doing one's duty is of utmost importance. You have a duty to yourself, to your spouse, to your family, to your community, to your nation, and to the universe. Righteousness is the core of performing duties. A person who has lead a righteous life is fearless. Without doing duties, indulging in spiritual activities is hypocrisy.

Righteousness is not easy to achieve. One has to suffer a lot to be on the right path always. All your actions must be morally and legally right. Sometimes what is legally right may be morally wrong. You may feel it is right as long as it favours you or benefits you. You must look at every one of your actions without favour or fervour.

Whatever you do, how sincere and devoted you are to God is more important. Doing anything for the praise of others and personal glory is a waste. It is not recognized and appreciated by God. You will not get salvation. You are simply wasting your energy and resources. It is better to keep quiet instead of indulging in such activities.

The year consists of spring, autumn, winter and summer. Similarly, the day consists of morning, afternoon, evening and night. Likewise, there are people who are self-interested, who are interested only in their family, who are interested only in their community and those having universal love who are called godmen. What are you?
