EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN

I am for women’s education and empowerment but not for employment. Empowerment means the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.

In my view, there is no point in going for regular jobs, working at the discretion of someone for a meagre salary. It does not empower women in any way. The women should be on their own and set an example for others.

At home, there are various avenues for them to take care: 1. Educating their children.2. Finance management.3. Home management. 4. Undertaking tuitions.5. Doing handicrafts, and artificial jewellery. 6. Gardening. Etc

My daughter is bold and beautiful. After completing her education, she did not prefer a job. She wanted to be independent. She had a passion for teaching. Initially, she started teaching music. Then she started teaching subjects, including public speaking.  Now she runs her own Academy in the US, coaching hundreds. 

My daughter-in-law is humble and pious. Hailing from a small town in Tamilnadu, she too wanted to be independent. She had a passion for business and gardening. Initially, she started making artificial jewellery at home. Then she started her own boutique shop. Now she runs a shop in a busy area of Hyderabad selling items that are required for the ladies. She also maintains a vegetable garden at home.

Taking care of their home and health is important. Passion and perseverance are important. Motive and hard work are important. Getting the support of other family members is important. This is called the empowerment of women. 

RANDOM THOUGHTS 946 TO 960

​946. The health of a person is indicated by the number of medicines one takes daily. Lesser the medicines better the health, more the medicines more the health.

947. We talk highly about our culture but mostly we follow western culture. But Westerners neither talk about their culture nor follow our culture.

948. The women cry outside. The men cry inside. The couples must be tactful to solve the day's problem without carrying it on to the next day.

949. The Lord is busy. He will not appear in person to advise everyone. He tells through the parents and well-wishers. It is up to them to take it or leave it.

931. Do you know, I was afraid of doing anything I wanted to do before I was married? After marriage, I did not even worry about terrorism.

932. Dogs, having 5 senses, fight with dogs but are friendly with humans having 6 senses. But humans, having 6 senses, fight with humans but are friendly with dogs having 5 senses.

933. I am 77. I have renounced everything in life. But, for one thing, my longing is irresistible. Do you know what it is? It is soft and hot idly coated with chilli powder and sesame oil.

944. People think that the Internet is the fastest way to transfer funds. No, it is not so. Marriage is a faster way of transferring funds than the Internet.

945. Duty means a moral and legal obligation or responsibility. Everyone has a duty to self, to his family, to society, and to his nation.

916. The sieve does not retain the water. But the water cleans the sieve. Similarly, our mind does not retain holy thoughts. But the thoughts clean the mind.

917. The sacred thread [Yagnopaveedam] divides the body into two parts. The right side performs noble acts. On the left side other acts.

918. When my friend asked me for a hand loan, my father advised me, If a friend is important, forget the money and if money is important, forget the friend.

919. To extend more concessions to the senior citizens, the haircutting charges for them should be proportionately reduced for the quantity of hair on their head.

920. Behind every successful man, stands a woman advising him not to do certain things. Behind every successful woman, stands a man encouraging her to do certain things.

GLORIFYING THE MOTHER

It is heartwarming to see people writing daily about the Mother, Maa, or Mom, etc. in social media glorifying her to the maximum. They are so captivated by the mother. But I feel for the father who may just smile but the mother feels elated.

Many do not realize the value of the father. Father's role is a thankless one. He is much adored when earning, ignored on holidays, and ill-treated after retirement. A man is respected until he earns and the mother until she works.

The mother satiates the hunger but the father cares about acquiring knowledge. Its importance will be known only later in life. In addition, he insists on rules, character, discipline, education, etc which are unwelcome. So the mother is more glorified.

After retirement, the father, wishing to give some rest to his wife, takes her to his son's house. The daughter-in-law, unable to cope with the stress due to her children, education, employment, finance, domestic chores, ill-health, etc. expects the mother-in-law to contribute. Then the father, sympathizing with his wife, takes her to their daughter's house. The same situation prevails there and the daughter also expects her mother to contribute.

The most important point to be noted here is how the Mother feels about the two. She is happy to help the daughter but not the daughter-in-law. She feels that her daughter-in-law is enjoying her life with her son, whereas her daughter is suffering at her place. This feeling of partiality by the Mother is the root cause of all the problems in the world. 

The whole Universe will be happy only if the mother considers both her daughter and her daughter-in-law as equal. Then there is real meaning in GLORIFYING THE MOTHER. 

மனதில் தோன்றிய எண்ணங்கள் 1786 TO 1800

1786. விவாதிப்பது எனக்குப் பிடிக்கும். அது ஆரோக்கியமானது. ஆனால் எதிர்த்துப் பேசுவது பிடிக்காது. அது அநாவசியமாக மனஸ்தாபத்தை உண்டு பண்ணும்.

1787. தாவரங்கள், விலங்குகள் இவற்றுடன் ஒப்பிட்டு பார்க்கும் போது ஆறறிவு படைத்த மனிதனால் எந்த வித பலன்களும் கிடையாது. இதில் அஹங்காரம் வேறு.

1788. என்னால் எதையும் பொறுத்துக் கொள்ள முடிகிறது. ஆனால் இந்த அஹங்காரம் என்ற ஒரு குணத்தை மட்டும் கொஞ்சம் கூட பொறுத்துக் கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

1789. நமது நாட்டில் ஓரளவு ஒழுங்காக ஓடிக்கொண்டு இருப்பது நீதிமன்றங்கள் தான்.அதையும் கெடுத்துத் தொலைத்து விடுவார்கள் போல் பயம் தோன்றுகிறது.

1790. பண்டிகை நாட்களில் பலவித பணியாரங்கள் செய்வதைத் தவிர்த்து, "உபவாசம்" தான் சிறந்தது என்று கூறினால் அதை எல்லோரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார்களா?

1795. "மெலடோனின்" மனித மூளையில் இரவில் உற்பத்தி ஆகிறது. உறக்கம் வருவதற்கு இதுவே முக்கிய காரணம். இது இல்லாவிடில் உறக்கம் பாதிக்கப்படும்.

1796. வெளுத்தது எல்லாம் பால் என்று நினைத்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறோம். ஆனால் எந்தப் புற்றில் எந்தப் பாம்பு இருக்கிறது என்று யாருக்கும் தெரியாது.

1797. பெண்கள் வீரத்தை விரும்பியது அந்தக் காலம். விவேகத்தை விரும்பியது கடந்த காலம். சமத்துவத்தை விரும்புவது நிகழ் காலம். எதிர் காலத்தில்?

1798. யாரைப் பற்றியும்,எதைப் பற்றியும், எப்படி வேண்டுமானாலும் பேசுவதற்கு,எழுதுவதற்கு தரப்பட்டுள்ள உரிமைக்கு மறு பெயர் கருத்து சுதந்திரம்.

1799. உச்ச நீதி மன்ற தீர்ப்பை விமரிசனம் செய்யும் அளவுக்கு நமது நாட்டில் அறிவு ஜீவிகள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது ஒரு ஆச்சரியமான விஷயம் தான்.

1800. அரசியல்,மதம்,ஜாதி, சினிமா இவை நான்கும் தனி மனித அபிப்பிராயம்.யாரும் எந்த முடிவுக்கும் வர முடியாது. வீண் வாக்குவாதம் தான் மிஞ்சும்.  

IS IT PLEASURE OR PAIN?

People who have completed their duties in educating their children and getting them married may be under the impression that our responsibility is over and we can lead a happy retired life with our grandchildren. We are wrong. We are not free yet.

When we were young,  we were one among many children and we had the responsibility to support our parents until our siblings were married. Our parents might have spent everything on education and wedding expenses and they were gone.

We started our life at around 40. We limited our children to one or two. We gave them professional education and they studied well and got into good jobs. We even constructed a small house and saved something for our retired life.

We got our children married. We led a simple life spending on necessities, avoiding the comforts, and forgetting the luxuries. We managed to live our life until retirement. Our children are earning a good salary and they are happy to take care of us.

Meanwhile, the cost of living has gone up. Lifestyle has changed. Both husband and wife have to work. Credit/debit cards, EMI, Internet, iPhone, sedan, etc. are the order of the day.  They are under stress. It leads to BP, diabetics, migraines, obesity, infertility, depression, etc. Life is not peaceful.

The cost of a flat is one crore. Children's education expenses need one crore. Medical expenses on four parents require one crore. Investment in retired life needs one crore. They have to save five crores in 25 years ie 2 lacs per month. 

We must understand this. We were helping our parents and we have to help our children now. We were simple and economical and we should continue to live like that. That is our life. What to do? IS IT PLEASURE OR PAIN?
