IN MAHABHARATA
1. King Chandanu was the emperor of the Kuru dynasty.
2. His son Bhishma relinquished kingdom and wowed not to marry.
3. The king married fisherwoman Sathyavathi.
4. Sathyavathi had an illegitimate son Dvypayanar prior to the marriage.
5. After marriage, she had two sons, Chithrangathan and Vichitraveeriyan.
6. Bhishma also married them to Ambikai and Ambalikai respectively.
7. Bhishma crowned the eldest son Chitrangathan after Chandanu.
8. Chitrangathan died due to ill-health and Bhishma crowned his younger brother next.
9. Vichitraveeriyan also died and both of them did not have any children.
10. To get heirs to the throne, Sathyavathi persuaded the widows to copulate with Dvypayanar.
11. Drudharashtran to Ambikai, Pandu to Ambalikai and Viduran to a maid were born.
12. The eldest son Drudharashtran was blind and hence relinquished the throne to Pandu.
13. Later, Pandu gave back the kingdom to Druharashtran, went to the forest and died.
14. Drudharashtran's wife Kanthari conceived and delivered a huge ball made of flesh.
15. Dvypayanar converted it into 100 sons and 1 daughter. Duryodhana was the eldest.
16. Pandu's wives Kunthi and Mathri got six illegitimate children thro celestial gods. Karna was the eldest.
17. Drudarashtran, the eldest, was alive and he was the King.
18. As per tradition, his eldest son Duruyodana should be crowned.
19. With elder brother Karna alive, Yudishtran has no right to claim for the kingdom.
20. Why Duruyodhanan was denied his rightful right to the kingdom leading to a great war?

1. Dasaratha was a great emperor and he had four wives.
2. His second wife Kaikeyi knew war tactics.
3. Hence he took her to war as a charioteer.
4. In the war, she saved him from near death.
5. Dasaratha was pleased and gave her two boons.
6. Kaikeyi said she will take it when the time comes.
7. She asked for the two boons when Lord Rama was to be crowned.
8. One, to crown her son Bharatha and two, to send Rama to the forest.
9. Being the king, Dasaratha should have fulfilled his promise.
10. He should have equal love for all his sons including Bharatha.
11. He should have crowned Bharatha and gone to the forest along with Rama.

63. சிறிதளவு இஞ்சியோடு மிளகு, தேங்காய்த் துருவல், பேரீச்சம்பழம், உப்பு சேர்த்து அரைத்து, தயிரில் கலந்தால், சூப்பர் சுவையில் பச்சடி தயார்.

69. எந்தவிதமான சூப் செய்தாலும், சோள மாவு இல்லாவிட்டால், ஒரு டீஸ்பூன் அவலை வறுத்து, பொடித்து, சலித்து, அதில் சேர்த்துக் கொதிக்கவிட்டால்... சூப் கெட்டியாக, ருசியாக இருக்கும்.

HOUSE WARMING CEREMONY

People who build a new house or buy a new flat may be clueless when to begin construction or to perform the house warming ceremony. They normally go to their astrologer to find the auspicious date and time. 

However, VAASTHU PURUSHAN is considered to be the authority for such functions. He is supposed to be sleeping all the time throughout the year and wakes up only on specific months. When he wakes up, he is awake only for 90 minutes.

While sleeping, he keeps his head on the east during the Tamil months of Purattasi, Aippasi, and Karthikai, on the south during Marghazhi, Thai and Maasi, on the west during Panguni, Chithirai, and Vaikasi, and on the north during Aani, Aadi, and Aavani.

He keeps his left hand folded underneath his head. The construction of the house should not be commenced in the direction of his look or his legs.

The time he wakes up is considered to be the most auspicious for performing the house warming ceremony. The date and time can be ascertained from the Almanac of the respective year. Other parameters need not be looked into.

He does not wake up during the Tamil months of Aani [Jun 15-Jul 15], Purattasi [Sept 15-Oct 15], Marghazhi [Dec 15-Jan 15], and Panguni [Mar 15-Apr 15].

376. In India, the guests are taken for a tour of the house, to show the nook and corner. In the US, it is only up to the drawing-room.

377. In the US, for Navarathri, apart from giving betel leaf, areca nut, vermilion, kumkum,blouse-bit, guests are also provided dinner. 

378. Someone was stealing the wheels in the police patrol cars. The police were clueless. They were searching for the thief TIRELESSLY.

லக்ஷ்மணின் ராம பக்தி

ஸ்ரீராமர் பட்டாபிஷேகம் ஏற்ற பின் ராமரை பார்த்து ஆசி கூற அகஸ்திய மாமுனிவர் அயோத்திக்கு வருகை புரிந்தார். அப்பொழுது அகஸ்தியர் சபையினரை பார்த்து ராவண கும்பகர்ண வதத்தை விட லக்ஷ்மணன் ராவணன் மகன் மேகநாதனை வதைத்ததே மாபெரும் வீர செயல் என்றார் அகஸ்தியர். 

சபையோர்களே, ராவணன் மகன் மேகநாதன் தேவலோக அரசன் இந்திரனுடன் போர்புரிந்து அவனை வென்று சிறையில் அடைத்து வைத்தது யாவரும் அறிந்ததே. நான்முக கடவுளான பிரம்மா, இந்திரனை விடுவிக்க மேகநாதனிடம் கோரிக்கை வைக்க மேகநாதன் இந்திரனை விடுவிக்க வேண்டுமென்றால் தாங்கள் எனக்கு மூன்று அறிய வரங்கள் தர வேண்டும் என நிபந்தனை வைத்தான். அவை 

1.பதினான்கு ஆண்டுகள் உணவு உண்ணாதவனும்,

2.அதே பதினான்கு ஆண்டுகள் ஒரு நொடி கூட உறங்காது இருப்பவனும், 

3.அதே பதினான்கு ஆண்டுகள் எந்த ஒரு பெண் முகத்தையும் ஏறெடுத்து பார்க்காது இருப்பவன் எவனோ அவனால் மட்டுமே எனக்கு மரணம் நிகழவேண்டும் என்று பிரம்மாவிடம் மூன்று அறியவரங்களை பெற்று இந்திரனை விடுவித்தான். அதனால் மேகநாதனை யாவரும் இந்திரஜித் என்று அழைத்தனர். இப்படி பட்ட மேகநாதனை வதம் செய்த பெருமை லக்ஷ்மணனையே சேரும் என்று கூறி முடிக்க,

ராமர் தன் சந்தேகத்தை கேட்டார். லக்ஷ்மணா என்னோடு வனவாசம் இருந்தபோது எந்த பெண்ணையும் ஏறெடுத்து பார்க்காமையும் உணவு உண்ணாமையும் உறக்கம் கொள்ளாமையும் இருந்தாய் என அகஸ்தியர் கூறுகிறாரே எப்படி என சபையோர் முன் விளக்கமுடியுமா.?

லக்ஷ்மணர் அண்ணா உங்களுக்கு நினைவு இருக்கலாம் ரிஷிமுக பர்வதத்தில் மாதா சீதையை தேடி அலைந்த போது மாதாவால் வீசப்பட்ட அணிகலன்களை சுக்ரீவன் நம்மிடம் காட்டும்போது அன்னையின் பாத அணிகலன்களை தவிர வேறு எதுவும் என்னால் அடையாளம் காண முடியவில்லை காரணம் அன்னையின் பாதத்தை மட்டுமே பார்த்து நான் தினமும் வணங்குவேன். அதனால் பாத அணிகலன்களை மட்டுமே என்னால் அடையாளம் காணமுடிந்தது.

அடுத்து வனவாசத்தின் போது நீங்களும் மாதாவும் இரவில் உறங்கும்போது நான் காவல் புரியும் நேரம் நித்ராதேவி என்னை ஆட்கொள்ள வரும் நேரம் நான் நித்ராதேவியிடம் ஒரு வரம் கேட்டேன். அம்மா என் அண்ணன் ராமரையும் என் அண்ணியான மாதா சீதா தேவியையும் பாதுகாக்கவே நானும் அண்ணனோடு வனவாசம் வந்துள்ளேன். அதனால் எங்கள் வனவாசம் முடியும் வரை என்னை நீ ஆட்கொள்ளவே கூடாது. இந்த வனவாசம் முடியும் வரை எனக்கு உறக்கமே வரக்கூடாது என வேண்டிக்கொண்டேன் நித்ராதேவியும் என் வேண்டுதலுக்கு செவி சாய்த்து என்னை பதினான்கு ஆண்டுகள் ஆட்கொள்ள மாட்டேன் என வரமளித்தாள். அதனால் எனக்கு உறக்கம் என்பதே இல்லாமல் இருந்தது வனவாசத்தின் போது.

மூன்றாவதுநம்குருநாதராகிய விஸ்வாமித்திரர் நம் உடல் சோர்வு அடையாமல் இருக்கவும் பசியே எடுக்காமல் இருக்கவும் பலா அதிபலா என்னும் மிகவும் சக்தி வாய்ந்த காயத்திரி மந்திரத்தை நம் இருவருக்கும் அவரது யாகம் வெற்றி பெற காவல் புரிந்ததற்காக உபதேசித்தார். அந்த பலா அதிபலா மந்திரத்தை தினமும் உச்சரித்தே எனக்கு பசி ஏற்படாமலும் உடல் சோர்வு அடையாமலும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டேன் என்று கூற சபையினர் எல்லோருமே லக்ஷ்மணனை ஆச்சிரியமாக பார்க்க ஆஞ்சநேயர் அயர்ந்தே போனார்.

லக்ஷ்மணின் ராம பக்தியை நினைத்து ராமர் அரியணையை விட்டு இறங்கி வந்து லக்ஷ்மணனை கண்ணீருடன் ஆரத்தழுவி கொண்டார். ஜெகம் புகழும் புண்ணிய கதை ராமனின் கதை மட்டும் அல்ல, லக்ஷ்மணின் கதையும்.
