HEART ATTACK

Do you know what a heart attack is?

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) occurs when a blocked artery stops blood and oxygen from reaching a section of the heart muscle. If the blockage is not quickly reopened, that part of the heart begins to die. It is a life-threatening medical emergency requiring immediate help.

A heart attack can be both sudden or preceded by warning signs. While some strike intensely without notice, many build slowly over hours, days, or even weeks, giving the body time to signal that something is wrong.

Nobody knows whether a heart attack is painful or not unless one experiences it. If it is a mild attack, there may be slight pain and discomfort.

If it is a major attack, nobody can explain as he won’t be alive. I asked Google and the answer is given below:

A heart attack is often painful, but it varies wildly. While some experience a crushing, sudden agony, others feel only mild discomfort, tightness, or nothing at all—often mistaking it for heartburn or indigestion.

Symptoms can last for several minutes or come and go. Key warning signs to look out for include:

Chest Discomfort:

Pain, pressure, fullness, or a squeezing sensation in the center or left side of the chest.

Upper Body Pain:

Discomfort spreading to one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw, or stomach.

Shortness of Breath:

Feeling winded, often happening before or alongside chest discomfort.

Other Signs:

Sudden dizziness, breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, or unexpected fatigue.

Symptoms can be subtler and vary between men, women, and older adults, who might only experience unusual fatigue, abdominal pain, or shortness of breath.

If you suspect you or someone else is experiencing these symptoms, you must seek medical attention immediately. Always call your local emergency services (such as 112 in India, 911 in the US.)
