DO YOU KNOW (Knowledge)

1. Birds don't produce urine and don’t urinate. An opening called cloaca is used for mating, laying eggs and excreting waste.


2. Horses, cows, Bison, Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, Elephants, and Flamingos can doze while standing, but lie down for deep sleep.


3. The bat is the only mammal that can fly. The leg bones of a bat are so thin that no bat can walk.


4. Snakes do not have eyelids. They cannot see. Instead they "brilles"allowing them to see clearly even when "closed.". 


5. Polar bears have black skin under their white fur. Their fur is translucent and reflects visible light, making them appear white.


6. The average housefly only lives for 2 or 3 weeks. Temperature, access to food, and environmental conditions can impact their lives.


7. For every human, the number of ants on Earth is about 2.5 million ants. There are roughly 20 quadrillion ants on Earth.


8. Some alligators and sharks can live up to 100 years, but it depends on the species and whether they are in captivity.


9. Honey bees have two stomachs: one for storing nectar called honey stomach and one for digesting food called ventriculus.


10. Elephants weigh less than the tongue of a blue whale. The heart of a blue whale is about the size of a small car.


11. Blue whales are the largest animal on Earth. They can grow over 100 feet long and weigh more than 180,000 kilograms.


12. A cockroach can survive for a week without its head, before dying of starvation despite its ability to breathe through its body segments. 


13. When a dolphin is sick or injured, other dolphins will try to help it by supporting it to the surface so it can breathe. 


14. Dolphins communicate with each other using whistles, and when one dolphin is in distress, it will often emit a loud signature whistle. 


15. Snails hibernate during the winter. They lower their heart rate and may appear dead, but they actually conserve energy.


16. Snails estivate during the summer. They burrow into their substrate and produce a mucus coating to protect themselves from heat.


17. The peregrine falcon is the world's fastest bird, and can reach speeds of over 300 km/h (186 miles) per hour.


18. A dairy cow produces about 200,000 glasses of milk in her lifetime. This is equivalent to about 18,750 gallons of milk.


19. Leeches have 32 brains. This is because their internal body is divided into 32 segments, each with its own brain. 


20. An outdoor cat has a lifespan of about 2-5 years. An Indoor cat can live for  16 years and more due to reduced exposure to dangers.


21. Sharks have a robust immune system, but they are not immune to all diseases and can indeed get cancer, contrary to popular belief.


22. The tip of mosquito’s proboscis has 47 sharp edges on its tip to help it cut through skin and even clothing to reach the capillaries.


23. The human brain has memory space of over 2.5 Petabytes which is 2,500,500 Gigabytes. This is equivalent to 300 years of TV shows.
