எங்கள் குடும்பம் / OUR FAMILY

எங்கள் குடும்பம் பெரியது. நாங்கள் ஒன்பது சகோதர, சகோதரிகள். எங்களுக்கு பதினெட்டு குழந்தைகள். அவர்களுக்கு பதினெட்டு குழந்தைகள். மொத்தம் எழுபது பேருக்கு மேல்.

Our family is a big family. We are nine brothers and sisters. We have 18 children. They have 18 children. The total may exceed 70 members.

நாங்கள் ஆறு பேர் சென்னையிலும் மூன்று பேர் பங்களூரிலும் குடியிருந்தோம். எங்கள் தாயாரிடம் எங்களுக்கு பக்தியும், அன்பும், மரியாதையும் உண்டு. ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் அவர் பிறந்த நாள் [1/4], திருமண நாள் [3/10] அன்று அவர் தங்கி இருக்கும் இடத்திற்குச் சென்று அவர்கள் ஆசி பெற செல்வோம்.

Among the brothers and sisters, six were living in Chennai and three in Bangalore. We had a lot of respect, love and regard for our mother. Every year, we visited our mother on her birthday [1/4] and wedding day [3/10], at the place where she was staying, to seek her blessings.

அவ்வாறு செல்லும்போது, சேர்ந்து சாப்பிட ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு பதார்த்தம் செய்து கொண்டு வருவார்கள். யார் என்ன பதார்த்தம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என எங்கள் தாயாரே கூறி விடுவார்.

When visiting her, every one of us used to prepare and bring a dish. Mostly the dishes were prepared on the advice of our mother.

எல்லோரும் சேர்ந்து சாப்பிட்டு, அரட்டை அடித்து, பாட்டுப் பாடி, தமாஷ் செய்து, காலையில் இருந்து இரவு வரை மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்து எங்கள் தாயாரையும் மகிழ்விப்போம்.

All of us made our mother happy by dining, gossiping, singing, joking and sleeping together and we stayed from morning till night.

இது ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் நடக்கும். வெளியூரில் இருந்தும் வருவார்கள். குழந்தைகளும் முடிந்தால் வருவார்கள். ஒரே ரகளை தான். சண்டை, சச்சரவு, வாக்குவாதம் என்ற பேச்சுக்கே இடமில்லை. அதையெல்லாம் மூட்டை கட்டி வைத்து விட்டுத்தான் அங்கு வருவோம்.

This took place every year. Some might come from out of the station. Our children might also come. There was a festive mood. No fighting, arguments, misunderstanding, etc. among us.

இப்போது எங்கள் தாயாரின் பிறந்த நாள், திருமண நாள் வருகிறது. ஆனால் அவர் எங்களுடன் இப்போது இல்லை.

Now the birthday and wedding day of our mother come but she is no longer with us.
